In 1969 Signal Landmark Development Company had a vision of a marina-esque community to be developed approximately 4 miles south of the Hotel Del Coronado, adjacent to the Silver Strand State Beach.  This eclectic collection of homes is known as the Coronado Cays.
The "Cays”, an affectionate local reference, is comprised of numerous inlets and peninsulas, each uniquely designed to reflect the architecture and atmosphere of Caribbean vacation spots.  Listen carefully and you just might hear Blackbeard the Pirate calling, "Ships ahoy maties!"

Welcome to The Coronado Cays


In 1969 Signal Landmark Development Company had a vision…..that of a marinaesque community to be developed approximately 4 miles south of the Hotel Del Coronado, adjacent to the Silver Strand State Beach.  This eclectic collection of homes is known as the Coronado Cays. This is the only community south of Newport Beach to possess this unique feature.

The “Cays,” affectionately referred to by the locals, is comprised of numerous inlets and peninsulas each designed with a character all its own, reflecting the architecture and atmosphere of Caribbean vacation spots. Listen carefully and you might just be able to hear Blackbeard calling “Ships ahoy maties!” There are 10 villages located within the Cays:

Green Turtle Cay, consists of custom homes located on The Point, Sandpiper Strand, Sixpence Way and Green Turtle Way. Each home comes with its own private boat dock, large enough for a yacht and a few water toys. The waterways surrounding these streets are equally intriguing, with names such as Crown Bay, Treasure Cove, Buccaneer Cove South and North, Smugglers Cove and Rendezvous Lagoon.  Some of these magnificent homes look across to the Loews Hotel Resort and Marina.

Montego Bay Villas, is a fully gated resort condominium community.  Unlike any of the other “villages.” Montego Bay, has two regulation tennis courts, a solar energy heated pool and clubhouse.  Boat slips are not deeded to the property, but may be leased.  There are approximately 42 slips available for rent.  For information about the boat slips, contact Jerry Nelson, Applegate Properties (530) 878-9371 .

Jamaica Village, boasts of charming town homes that offer their own private gardens, on and near the water. For relaxing recreation and gracious entertaining, the British governors of the Caribbean islands thoughtfully provided lavish facilities on each major island.  Joined to the water by a fine beach, the clubhouse provides a delightful private beach club in which all residents of the village share equal membership.  Although these town homes are considered to be off-water, there are 43 boat slips strung like pearls along the promenade, in Rendezvous Lagoon. Bahama Village, is a community boasting of large homes on Bahama Bend, with yards and partial ocean view.  Most of these homes enjoy an “upside down” floor plan, with the bedrooms located on the first floor, and the living areas on the second floor which maximizes ocean views. Smugglers Cove and Discovery Lagoon border Catspaw Cape.  These town homes come with their own boat slip.  Use of the Pavilion Clubhouse and pool are open to all Bahama and Antigua residents.

Antigua Village is a collection of 2 and 3 bedroom condo’s with large patios and their own boat slips.  If you have a large boat, you may need to shop slip size vs condo size and location. Typically, the larger slips are located on the east side. These units come with a detached 2-car garage located in the center of the complex.  Antigua Court, is U-shaped and is surrounded to the north by Smugglers Cove, to the west by Discovery Lagoon, and to the east by Grand Caribe Bay North.  Odd numbered addresses are ground floor units, and even numbered addresses are located on the second level.  Use of Pavilion clubhouse and pool is open to all Antigua and Bahama Village residents.

Kingston Village is a ménage of 2 and 3 bedroom condominiums with a single car attached garage located on a horseshoe shaped street.  These condos are nestled between Grand Caribe Bay South to the east, Inspiration Lagoon to the west, and Mariners Cove to the south. Boat slips are deeded to the condo, but the size of the slip varies with each condominium.  Depending on the size of the boat you have or want, you may need to “shop” dock size vs. condominium.  Generally speaking, condos located on Kingston Court East, have larger slips.  Use of clubhouse and pool open to all Kingston and Trinidad residents.  Odd numbered addresses are ground floor units, and even numbered addresses are located on the second level.

Trinidad Village offers detached single family homes with large yards on Trinidad Bend.  A collection of town homes located on Port of Spain, bordering Inspiration Lagoon & Mariners Cove also makeup Trinidad Village.  Use of clubhouse and pool are open to all Kingston and Trinidad residents.

Blue AnchorCay, offers a collection of custom homes located on Mariners Cove, and Blackbeards Passage South and North.  Bordering Blue Anchor Cay is Calypso Cay, a cluster of track homes offering a Caribbean inspired indoor-outdoor living style.  One side of the block comes with its own boat slip, and the other side offers a premium location on the bay, with charming views of Mexico. Bayside homes do not come with boat slips, but enjoy their own private beach.

Port Royal Village boasts of town homes located on Aruba Bend, offering gorgeous views of San Diego Bay.   A collection of off water detached 2- story homes are located on St. Christopher’s Lane, St. Kitts Way, Port Royal Road, Tobago Way and Bridgetown Bend,  This village also has use of a clubhouse and pool.

Mardi Gras Village has a charming collection of patio homes on Mardi Gras Road, Delaport Way, South Cays Court,   Tunapuna Lane is one of the best kept secrets in the Cays!  These town homes have spectacular water front, and views to Mexico from the living room, dining room, kitchen and master bedroom retreat.  Because the bay is rather shallow at this point, these homes do not have docks, but instead enjoy their own private sandy beach.
